Know what you are doing before each workout
A workout plan template gives your week a structure: when you will train, what you will do in each session and what you want to record afterward. This template connects your weekly schedule with session plans, an actual-results log and a four-week review.
Start with your available days and the routine you already follow. Replace the sample session labels, enter your exercises and keep previous weeks so you can review what happened.
What is inside?
- Training brief: write your goal, available days, equipment, time per session and preferred weight unit.
- Weekly workout schedule: arrange sessions, rest days and a review across Monday to Sunday.
- Two session plans: fill in exercises, sets, reps or duration, load, rest and notes. Copy a table to add more sessions.
- Workout log: record actual results with one row per set, or one row per timed activity.
- Four-week review: compare planned and completed sessions and choose one change for the next week.
- Next-week checklist: prepare a new schedule while keeping your previous results.
These are editable tables and checklist items. Counts and comparisons are entered manually.
Weekly workout plan example
The template starts with this editable arrangement. Session A and Session B are labels for your own routine, rather than prescribed workouts.
| Day | Session |
|---|---|
| Monday | Session A |
| Tuesday | Rest / other activity |
| Wednesday | Session B |
| Thursday | Rest / other activity |
| Friday | Session A |
| Saturday | Rest / other activity |
| Sunday | Weekly review |
Change the number of sessions, their order and the rest days to fit your own plan. Each session table has space for exercises, sets, reps or duration, load, rest and notes.
How to use the template
- Copy the template into your Buildin workspace.
- Write your goal, available days and equipment in the training brief.
- Arrange the week and fill in the session tables using your routine or your coach’s plan.
- After training, add actual reps, load or duration to the workout log.
- Review completed sessions, record one useful change and copy the blank tables for next week.
Keep your planned targets in the session table and your actual results in the log. That makes it easier to spot when a session changed without overwriting your original plan.

Yes. The schedule has seven editable days, including space for training, rest and review. Add or remove sessions to match your own routine.
Can I use it for home or gym workouts?
Yes. Enter your location and available equipment, then add the exercises from your own plan. For timed activities, record duration instead of repetitions.
Is this a PDF or Excel download?
This version is an editable Buildin template. It does not include a separate PDF or Excel download.
Does it generate a personalized workout program?

Does it calculate progress automatically?
The tables store your entries. Session counts, comparisons and weekly adjustments are manual; there is no built-in rest timer or automatic progression calculation.
What do I need to get started?
You need a Buildin workspace to keep your own editable copy, plus the routine you want to organize. The session fields are left open for your exercises and training targets.
